STEP 1
Secure Intake
Your luxury item arrives either in person at our NYC office or via fully insured overnight shipping. For items valued at $100,000 or more, we arrange armored carrier transport at no additional cost.
The International Gem Tower, located within a designated U.S. Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ), features biometric iris-scan entry and secure underground delivery bays. Additional security includes a double-door mantrap entryway to our office suites, as well as 24/7 on-site armed guard personnel and CCTV monitoring (G4S-managed) across the building’s more than 350 high-definition cameras.
STEP 2
Authentication and Condition Documentation
Every asset is photographed in high resolution and documented with a detailed condition report, including serial numbers, reference numbers, and any existing wear or characteristics. This record is completed before your collateral is transferred to the ultra-secure vault, giving you a clear reference point to verify the condition on return.
STEP 3
Transfer to the Vault
Your item is then transferred to Qollateral’s vault, where it remains for the full duration of your loan. Our Underwriters Laboratories (UL) Class 3-rated vault, the top tier of UL’s commercial vault classification, features heavy-duty, fireproof construction. A complete record is maintained throughout your loan term.
Video surveillance is monitored around the clock by DGA Security, a firm founded in 1969 specializing in high-value inventory protection for jewelry businesses and Diamond District operators. Their systems include JamGuard cellular jam detection technology, which identifies and alerts against the radio frequency jamming tactics used in sophisticated commercial robberies. Monitoring centers are UL-listed and FDNY-approved, and hold TMA Five Diamond certification, the highest credential in the alarm monitoring industry.
STEP 4
Return on Repayment
When your loan is repaid, your asset is re-inspected against the original intake documentation before release. It is then available for in-person pickup or returned to you via fully insured shipping, in the same condition it arrived, without exception.
The International Gem Tower
Your asset is stored at 50 West 47th Street, a purpose-built, 34-story facility designed by Skidmore, Owings and Merrill specifically for the global diamond, gem, and jewelry trade. It is not a general office building. It was conceived from the ground up to house the world’s most valuable portable assets. This is what sets International Gem Tower vault storage apart.
The building’s security infrastructure reflects that purpose. It operates with biometric access control including iris-scan technology, 350 surveillance cameras loaded with behavioral-detection software, secure underground delivery bays, G4S guarding services around the clock, and state-of-the-art closed-circuit monitoring throughout. G4S is one of the world’s most recognized security firms, with a client roster that includes the Olympic Games.
The International Gem Tower also holds a U.S. Foreign Trade Zone designation, allowing duty-free import and export of assets within the building, a distinction that speaks to the caliber of transactions it was built to support. Co-tenants include the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), whose laboratory operates on-site, and the Diamond Dealers Club, the private trade association whose members move billions of dollars in diamonds annually.
